Desert Rain botanical perfume spray

I’m a native Arizonan who fell in love with a military man. After moving all over for the past 20+ years, we ended up on the east coast for his career, and I resigned myself to the fact that I’ll probably never live in the desert again. I’ve been in pursuit of that uniquely Arizonan scent of desert monsoons, and this is by far the closest I’ve come to perfection! I found some straight creosote oil that smells amazing, but it still misses a few notes of desert rain. This perfume actually captures the entire essence of the monsoon experience, not just the creosote — it’s reminiscent of riding our bikes on the pavement through the rain, of the smell of rain hitting the dirt on our Arizona cotton farm, of the storm clouds gathering and the lightning piercing the sky. So yeah, this is what I’ll come back to every time I miss home, when I need the smell of nostalgia and the joy of raindrops hitting the hot ground.

I spent most of my childhood in Tucson, Arizona, and as an adult living in the hot concrete jungle of Phoenix, I very much miss the smell of the desert and the rain and the natural fragrance of creosote, local desert blooms, herbs, even campfires. Many many times over the years as an adult when I have happened upon a creosote bush I have stopped to pull off a small branch so I could keep it in my car and smell the oil in the leaves to remind me of happy times in my youth. It is not overbearing in any way shape or form and I actually have started a routine of spraying it on my arms and around my neck and hair right before bed so that I have that beautiful creosote+sage spicy, herby aroma while I’m dozing off to sleep.
